Busted!

I accidentally went to Michaels today. Oops. No, I'm serious! I was driving home after work, and all of the sudden my car was parked and I was walking into the store.

Well, ok. Maybe I thought about it, and decided that it couldn't hurt to just stop in and look around for a minute. Who can remember these details? What is important is that they are having a sale. Maybe you've heard of it? Dollar Days. I wasn't gonna buy anything. Really. But then I saw Paper Packs for $4!!

$4!!!

I couldn't turn that down! I mean, paper is expensive. And I almost bought a few of those packs full price (with a coupon) just a few months ago! So I bought 6.

Kurt was supposed to be on campus until like 10 tonight, so I was gonna just sneak them in and mix them with my other craft supplies. But he came home early.

I walked in and thought "Oh no." Not only was he home, he was updating our bank account. Could I have chosen a worse time to walk in with 4 huge shopping bags??

I quickly stashed them in the hall closet. "Hey dude! So, uh, you're home early."

"Yeah, I thought I'd surprise you and clean the house while you were gone. I even mopped the floors."

Oh, man. I felt like such a traitor.

"Did you have to stay late at work?"

"Um, no. I had to get some gas... and then I accidentally stopped at Michaels."

He gave me this look. The one that says "I do not approve."

So we talked it over, and decided I should maybe wait until I actually get a paycheck to spend money.

Well, it was fun while it lasted.

HAHAHA! Jim gives me that look ALL the time, and usually it's over paper. I got the Farmer's Market here on clearance after Christmas for three bucks, but you know I'm so off to Michael's to have a look see Friday. I got my Sunday ad and this Sunday, (Jan. 24) from 4-6 you get an additional %25 plus sales. I know this week's sales will be over, but there's hope more good sales are around the corner, right?

Lol! Well we all knew this day was going to come sooner or later :) I do think is is a good idea to wait until you actually have money to spend it though. At least you had a good run :)

You might try the argument that craft supplies are far cheaper than therapy? Just a thought ;)

Haha! I regularly try to hide purchases from my husband, I get the look of disapproval if I buy myself a bottled water! :p I know the busted feeling all too well!
